CTL7009H - Anti-Discriminatory Education
In this course this year, we learned about different equity issues. How systemic oppressions operate within K-12 schooling in Ontario and beyond through the reproduction of inequalities (including but not limited to race, indigeneity, class, gender, sexuality, ability, language, age and religion).
CTL7014H: Fundamentals of Teaching and Learning
This year's course taught us many practical issues as teachers, such as lesson planning, classroom management skills, how we feel teaching, and the mental/physical health of our students and ourselves. Through this course, we were able to gain many skills to add to our teaching tool kits in use for the future.
CTL7011H: Child and Adolescent Development and Learning
In this course this year, we learned about addressing issues and developmental changes in children and the factors involved in child development. Specifically looking at infancy, the preschool period, early school years, intermediate years, and adolescence are covered.
CTL7100H: Mathematics Concepts for Elementary Teacher Candidates
This course is also known as "Mathplus". Alongside taking our regular mathematics course, this course was able to help build our confidence in teaching math by having us work on the topic that we will eventually be teaching from K-grade 6.
CTL7016H: Integrating Technology into the Classroom: Issues and Activities
Through this course, I was able to learn more information about the different ways technology can be incorporated into the curriculum as a tool. The link below showcases the different workshops learned throughout the course.

Year:
CTL7019H Supporting English Language Learners
Through this course, I learned more about different ways I can support MLL students in the classroom. Techniques, activities and resources to use. In this, we had weekly tasks: watching MLL videos to see what levels they were at and what would be needed to help them.
CTL7008H Introduction to Special Education and Mental Health
This year's course taught us many practical issues as teachers, such as regular education classrooms being the primary placement for students with disabilities and framing special education as effective teaching that helps all students. We learned about what it means to have an Universally Designed learning classroom to cater to everyones needs and resources to help with it.
